Every year I get an education allowance through work. Every year I feel like I don’t take full advantage of it. This year I choose to spend a portion of my allowance on a PluralSight subscription.

I’ve been working remote since May 2014. I thought it would be good to publish my experience. For the most part everything has been positive. There are some negatives to address though. My situation, like most, is unique.
When my wife (girlfriend at the time) and I decided we wanted to move from Alberta to Ottawa, ON I thought I would need to look for a new job. I wasn’t happy about this because I do like my job at Tronia Systems Ltd.

I’ve been working with .Net for a 11 years now. First starting out with Winforms VB.Net, moving over to ASP.Net Web Forms. More recently I’ve worked with both ASP.Net MVC and stood up a couple REST services with WebAPI. It’s safe to say I’m comfortable in Visual Studio.
